Exceptional piece of antique metrology:
Solid iron weight, forged by hand (smithing work), dated probably between the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century.
It is a substantial piece, possibly used as a counterweight on a large-capacity Roman balance scale. Its truncated-conical morphology and the fluted ring are characteristics of Spanish artisanal production (Castilian pounds).
