Description from the seller
Splendid specimen of Winged Strombo from the Caribbean, a magnificent collection specimen commonly referred to as Winged Strombo or Falcon's Wing. This species of marine gastropod is famous among collectors for its characteristic lip.
Geographic origin: Caribbean Sea, Atlantic Ocean, Modern Era.
The shell presents itself in excellent overall preservation:
Coloration: It preserves vivid its natural white and brown color patterns with well-defined banding.
Structure: The lip and the protoconch are intact. Only the normal and very slight natural imperfections of the calcareous shell due to the mollusk's life in the sea are noted, which attest to its authenticity.
Treatment: Cleaned and superficially polished to preserve the shell's natural luster.
