Elegant copper-gilt Napoleon III-era coupe on a pedestal dating from the late 19th century in gilded bronze.

In its center lies a representation in copper and silvered metal after Carl Becker illustrating the famous scene “Othello defending himself before the Doge of Venice,” inspired by the work of William Shakespeare. The piece offers a very fine decorative quality and bears witness to the historicist taste of the late 19th century.
