Vintage Italian Officine Galileo Condor I 35mm Rangefinder Camera – Eliog 5cm f/3.5, Aplon Rapid Shutter

A beautiful, highly collectible example of post-WWII Italian mechanical engineering: the Officine Galileo Condor I 35mm coupled rangefinder camera. Manufactured in Florence, Italy, by the renowned scientific instrument company Officine Galileo, this camera is heavily inspired by the classic Leica aesthetic but engineered with distinct Italian mechanical design flourishes.

This specific variant features the desirable in-house Aplon Rapid leaf shutter with high-performance speeds ranging up to 1/500s, and is paired with a collapsible Officine Galileo Eliog 5cm (50mm) f/3.5 coated lens. The camera features the iconic dual-window top plate setup separating the viewfinder composition window from the coincident-image rangefinder focusing window.

The back door hinges fully open to reveal a clean internal film chamber with an integrated pressure plate setup, demonstrating the exceptionally robust build quality typical of Officine Galileo's classic manufacturing.

Condition: Very Good vintage aesthetic condition overall. The metal top plate shows minimal age-appropriate scuffs. The black leatherette wrap on the front of the body near the lens has become slightly detached, though it is fully intact and can be easily re-glued by the next owner.

Optics & Viewfinders: The lens glass shows typical internal dust consistent with its age. The viewfinders also exhibit internal dust particles. No attempt has been made to deep clean or wipe the optics manually; they have only been gently blown with a standard photographic dust blower.

Mechanical Condition: Mechanically untried with film. The shutter cocking mechanism lever moves, and the shutter appears to fire, but speeds have not been calibrated for accuracy. Rangefinder patch alignment remains untested. Selling as-is as a gorgeous vintage display cabinet piece or a prime candidate for a routine cleaning and service.
