Maker unidentified - Salt cellar (2) - Silver

A pair of antique silver open salt cellars, Vienna, 1863. Each cellar is formed as a shallow square bowl raised on a single central leg, with engraved decorative borders along the upper edges. The silver is of 13-loth standard (812.5/1000 purity), as indicated by the '13' mark struck on one piece alongside the Austro-Hungarian Empire date stamp for 1863; the companion piece carries the Diana's-head control stamp facing right, an Austrian assay office mark applied to silver articles. The maker's name is not identified in the hallmarks of either piece. Combined weight of the pair is 48 g; each cellar measures 6.2 x 5 x 3 cm. Condition is Very Good. Both pieces retain their structural integrity. No cracks, repairs, or restorations are noted. The engraved border along the rims is crisp. Minor surface wear and light scratching are present on both pieces, consistent with age and careful domestic use over approximately 160 years. Natural patina consistent with period silver is visible throughout.
