Beautiful and intriguing Chamba statuette from Nigeria. The figure seems to be in a waiting stance. The face bears a surprised expression. He is focused, connected to parallel worlds. The face is captivating and enigmatic. He is partially covered with seeds. As is his torso. The body is stocky and anchored to the ground. One feels his strength, mysterious and archaic, coming from the depths of the African bush. The sculpture is rough. Beautiful old patina. Sold as seen, see photos.
