Beautiful head of a Bocio stake, Ewe from Togo. It is an object with a lot of presence. The face is expressive and captivating. It seems serene, confident in its strength, immersed in the world of spirits. Its role is to protect a place and its occupants from bad spirits and spells.
The figure was attacked by xylophagous insects. The lower part of the body is missing. It is damaged but solid. The patina is beautiful, rich and complex. Composed of earth, shea butter, blood, alcohol... Sold as is. Custom-made pedestal. A beautiful antique and authentic Voodoo piece for collection. Circa 1950.
