Description from the seller
Olivo Barbieri
Site Specific: NAPOLI 09
This volume is part of the famous Site Specific project started by the Emilian photographer in 2004, which tells the story of different metropolises around the world through iconic aerial views and the technique of the "shif-tilt" (selective focus).
The volume dedicated to Naples continues the site-specific series by photographer Olivo Barbieri (Carpi, 1954), a project started in 2004 that has involved several metropolises across the planet, from east to west, from New York to Shanghai, from Las Vegas to Amman. This work also continues the series "A Different Altitude," which has already included the cities of Milan, Catania, Genoa and Florence: a series that offers a new reading of cities, seen from an unusual perspective, aboard a helicopter. In these images, Naples reconstructs for itself a lost image through a more objective redistribution of the scale relationships between buildings and their function and, at the same time, a new image is created, almost unrecognizable through the originality of overlays, close-ups and cuts, the adjacencies, the unexpected geometries of famous or anonymous buildings and infrastructures.
The volume presents itself in overall good condition. Dust jacket with signs of wear along the top edge. Bindings firmly attached. Interior pages clean without creases or stains. A good collectible copy.
