Okenite is a relatively uncommon mineral, whose empirical formula is Ca10[Si6O16/(Si6O15)2] · 18 H2O. With a complex structure, featuring double chains of Si–O tetrahedra to which layers of [Si6O16] are attached, it lies between inosilicates and phyllosilicates. It has no industrial uses, but is sold only as an elegant collectible mineral.
