Table - Wood, Bone

Napoleon III period writing desk. The top features marquetry on a rosewood ground, decorated with arabesques and interlacing patterns. The edge of the top is ebony and bone, the twisted pedestal is in blackened wood, the four feet are connected by X-shaped stretchers which also on their edges have ebony and bone marquetry. The belt is veneered with rosewood.

Condition: the top is worn, some bone pieces are missing, never restored or altered to our knowledge.
