Rare eight-piece brass balance weights set dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, housed in a custom oak block with official calibration stamps from 1874 onward, showing a warm patina and measuring 8 cm high, 20 cm wide and 6 cm deep.
Description from the seller
Rare and complete 8-piece set of brass balance weights, originating from a European trade or apothecary environment.
The set includes both hectogram and gram weights and is housed in a custom-made oak block.
All larger weights bear official calibration and re-calibration stamps, dating from 1874 onward, which confirms professional provenance and historical authenticity.
The brass weights show a warm, original patina that beautifully reflects their age and use.
The oak block was produced later, carefully color-stained and perfectly fitted to present the weights decoratively — a stylish and museum-worthy presentation piece.
A special collectible for enthusiasts of historical measuring instruments, the history of science, and antique craftsmanship.
