French Louis XV Style Sofa – Napoleon III – Walnut – Late 19th Century

Elegant French two-seat sofa in the Louis XV style, dating from the Napoleon III period (circa 1860–1890).

Crafted in solid walnut with graceful cabriole legs and finely carved floral decoration to the crest rail, apron and shoulders. The beautifully shaped double-back and flowing proportions are characteristic of high-quality French cabinetmaking from the second half of the nineteenth century.

The sofa retains its upholstered seat, back and armrests in a cream floral damask fabric. The upholstery shows age-related wear, staining and minor imperfections but remains usable, offering the possibility of reupholstery according to the buyer's preference.

A refined and decorative piece, ideal for both classic and contemporary interiors.

Condition

Good antique condition with expected signs of age and use. The wooden frame is structurally sound with minor surface wear and small losses to the finish.
