Description from the seller

BRAL

Tin sheet aircraft
Breda Ba.39
Made in Italy

*****

Old 1930s-40s

Breda Ba.39
airplane in tin sheet,
wingspan 45 cm
length 34 cm
The Breda 39 was an aircraft used for Sport and Tourism
low-wing monoplane with a slight dihedral
powered by radial engine
Colombo S63 (130 HP)
Maximum speed: 222 km/h
First flight: 1932

Manufacture: BRAL – made in Italy

In 1902 Roberto Braglia opened a small workshop in Milan for production, among other things, of toys

In 1935 Roberto’s son Arnaldo took over, who left the narrow workshop in Via Sarpi to move the company to a larger facility.

He then had a fortunate intuition, to exploit popular enthusiasm (well supported by the regime of the time) for the enterprises of those years in our aviation.

He therefore produced a series of fairly faithful reproductions of aircraft of the Regia Aeronautica in model kit form with results more than appreciable.

But the real turning point was the launch of the “Costruttore Meccanico,” i.e., the first Italian version of the universally known English “Meccano.”

The success was not lacking also because it was a national production in competition with the English one, at that time not highly regarded.

In that same year, 1952, BRAL also entered the electric train market

In the 1960s the factory closed
