Commemorative coin issued by the Central Reserve Bank of Peru to celebrate the centenary of the Breña Campaign, one of the most notable episodes of the War of the Pacific, led by General Andrés A. Cáceres. The obverse features a detailed and highly expressive portrait of the Peruvian military figure, with excellent definition in the facial features and the uniform, while the reverse shows the finely worked national coat of arms, flanked by laurel and palm branches. The specimen preserves an attractive original luster, with fields well preserved and sharp reliefs, showing only light marks typical of the MS63 grade, making it a solid piece and a very representative example of contemporary Peruvian commemorative numismatics.
