Emerald-green glass vase in the French Art Nouveau style, dating to 1850–1900, decorated with hand-applied enamel thistles, in excellent condition with light wear, height 25.7 cm, top diameter 7 cm, base diameter 7.5 cm.
Description from the seller
Crafted in richly coloured emerald-green glass, this refined vase is beautifully decorated with finely hand-applied enamel depicting delicate thistles, a symbolic Art Nouveau motif celebrating the beauty of nature. The graceful silhouette and luminous translucent glass exemplify the exceptional artistry and innovation for which Legras et Cie became renowned during the Belle Époque.
The vase remains in very good antique condition. As expected for an authentic piece of this age, there is some light wear and minor rubbing to the enamel decoration, consistent with careful use and more than a century of history, while preserving its remarkable decorative appeal.
A sophisticated and highly decorative example of French Art Nouveau glass, ideal for collectors of Legras, Belle Époque decorative arts, or as an elegant statement piece in a refined interior.
