Wall mirror - Wood, Glass

Louis XV / Napoleon III style wall mirror. It has been professionally cleaned in its entirety, with the back plate replaced by a new one, and includes the intervention seal. Large-sized wall mirror, with a French taste, featuring a rectangular frame with rounded corners, made of wood and molded composition, painted and gilded. The frame is richly decorated with friezes, flowers, foliage and relief vegetal elements, interspersed with brown-toned insets imitating tortoiseshell or wood grain. At the center of the top, it presents a cut-out, pierced back panel formed by scrolls, acanthus leaves and floral motifs, characteristic of the Louis XV revival disseminated during the Napoleonic III period. Horizontal rectangular mirror, with a back guarded by a panel and a hanging system in wire. Western Europe, probably France or the Iberian Peninsula, late 19th / early 20th century, around 1880–1910.
