Elegant writing desk / coffee table in Neoclassical / Louis XVI style in mahogany wood (or premium veneer) with gilded details (Mid-20th Century). Writing desk or coffee table of great charm, characterized by clean, rigorous lines recalling Neoclassical style and the Louis XVI period. A high-end cabinetmaking furniture piece. Estimated era: Mid-20th century (circa 1940-1960)
Origin: Italy
Material: Solid wood and veneered in premium veneer (mahogany / dark exotic wood with warm grain, or mirrored walnut)
Details and Finishes:
- Top-side fascia adorned with elegant vertical grooves (bastonatura).
- Profiles and details finished in a golden hue.
- Tapered barrel-pyramid legs downward, typical of the neoclassical taste, enriched with golden socks/low terminals.
- Practical front drawer equipped with a central metal escutcheon. Minor scratches on the top surface but easily restorable, see photos. Note: for this product type, local pickup is required; the address will be provided at the time of payment. Additionally, shipment is possible only by prior agreement with the buyer, with a specialized courier of choice and at the buyer’s expense. Conditions necessary for the sale.
