Description from the seller
It is a piece that breathes that serene solemnity only marble objects handmade in the first half of the twentieth century possess, when workshops still inherited classical sensibility and reinterpreted it with a more refined language. Here, the white marble —bright, with soft veining that seems to move beneath the surface— becomes a cup-centre of the table with sculptural presence, conceived both to decorate and to preside over a space with discreet authority.
The body opens into a wide cup, with thick walls and a cool touch, where light slides and diffuses. At the edge there is decoration in classical reliefs, a succession of motifs that evoke arches, leaves, architectural rhythms and that ornamental grammar that directly recalls the Renaissance: proportion, clarity, balance. It is not a literal copy of Renaissance models, but a reminiscence, a modern interpretation that preserves the essence of the tradition without losing the simplicity of twentieth-century design.
The base, slightly flared, supports the piece firmly and gives it almost ceremonial air. The whole ensemble transmits the sense of having been carved with patience, following the grain, respecting the material, letting the marble speak with its own voice.
It is an object that combines material purity, craftsmanship and historical memory, perfect as a decorative accent, as a collectible piece or as a centerpiece that brings light, calm and a touch of timeless classicism.
Certified shipping and good packaging.
