Description from the seller
These four key-shaped corkscrews form a decorative series from the second half of the twentieth century, inspired by classical wine cellar keys and historic keys. They combine a functional corkscrew with the shape of a large ornamental key and are produced in different styles and finishes.
The lot includes four different models. The first piece features a green-patinated Art Nouveau style. The second is richly decorated with grapevines and grape clusters and bears on the front the text “VERITAS” and on the back “IN VINO”, together forming the famous Latin motto “In vino veritas”. This piece is also accompanied by a removable bunch of grapes that can be used as a wall mount or decorative element. The third model features an elegant Baroque-inspired key handle with a small coat of arms and a shaft decorated with grapevines. The fourth piece is executed in a restrained Art Nouveau style with a round grip and also features a grape motif.
