Heavy silver cabaret, made by William Peaston of London. He was active from 1745 to 1755.

William Peaston specialized in making large silverware, serving trays and cabarets, but other large silver pieces are also attributed to him.

The cabaret (tray on feet) is beautifully decorated with scroll and floral motifs.

It is hallmarked with the first quality mark, city mark London, maker's mark WP and date letter J for 1753.

In the center of the cabaret is a (faded) family crest engraved of a stork.

The cabaret is robust and heavily constructed and in excellent condition.

Zwaar zilveren cabaret, gemaakt door William Peaston uit Londen. Hij was werkzaam van 1745 tot 1755.

William Peaston was gespecialiseerd in het maken van groot zilver, dienbladen en cabarets, maar ook ander groot bestek is er van hem overgeleverd.

Het cabaret (dienblad op pootjes) is fraai gedecoreerd met krul- en bloemmotieven.

Het is gekeurd met het 1e gehalte keur, stadskeur Londen, meesterteken WP en jaarletter j voor 1753.

Op het midden van het cabaret is een (vervaagd) family crest gegraveerd van een ooievaar.

Het cabaret is robuust en zwaar uitgevoerd en in prima conditie.
