Precious Centerpiece Basket in Heavy Faulted Crystal with 800 silver Handle - "Carmelo Ganci" Milan (period 1934-1938)

Elegant centerpiece basket / chocolate holder in heavy leaded crystal, enriched by a mobile handle in solid 800 silver of exceptional artisanal Italian craftsmanship. The object combines Mitteleuropean glassmaking tradition with the excellence of Milanese silverware from the first half of the Twentieth Century.
Details of Silver and Assaying:
The shaped handle features a refined corrugated/beaded edge finish and flared decorative elements with geometric-floral motifs at the clip attachments. In the center of the handle are clearly stamped and perfectly legible the official Assayer marks of the Kingdom of Italy:
1. Silver title: "800" enclosed in an oval, certifying the purity of the alloy.
2. Factory mark (Fascio Littorio): Diamond with trimmed points containing the registration number "110", the province acronym "MI" (Milan) and the symbol of the fascist fasces in the center. This specific mark allows attributing the manufacture to the renowned Milanese workshop of Carmelo Ganci (founded in 1926 on via Altaguardia) and dating the work with absolute precision between 1934 and 1938.
Crystal details:
The bowl is made of thick crystal, characterized by considerable weight and excellent optical clarity. The body is entirely worked with a complex geometric grinding: it features diamond-point motifs alternating with longitudinal shiny grooves forming lobed mirror-like decorations. The upper edge is richly edge-toothed (serrated).

Condition:
The object presents itself in excellent overall antique condition. The crystal shows no filaments or cracks; the serrated edges are well preserved. The silver handle is solid, maintains perfect elasticity on the attachment clips and has not undergone repairs. It shows a slight and fascinating patina of time.
