Christofle is a French silversmithing and tableware company, founded in Paris in 1830 by Charles Christofle.
The company is known for introducing electrolytic gilding and silvering in France in 1842. The company was acquired in 2012 by one of its shareholders, the Chalhoub family luxury group.
Maison Christofle relies on entirely handmade production following traditional techniques. The precious crafts of turning-repousse, planishing, chasing, and engraving, upheld by its Master Goldsmiths and Meilleurs Ouvriers de France, immortalize the elegance and excellence of all Christofle pieces. This irreplaceable human know-how is perpetuated by highly skilled artisans.
