Description from the seller

Real eye-catcher!

Beautiful kneading table, dough cabinet with a beautiful well-worn look and authentic patina. This is not a standard cabinet, but a characterful piece with history.

The furniture has a solid wood worktop and the typical layout of an old dough cabinet, used for kneading and letting bread rise. Nowadays perfectly usable as decorative furniture, a kitchen cabinet, small cooking island or eye-catcher in the home.

The hollow interior space (that open compartment in the middle) is typical: there dough was kept or allowed to rise.
The solid wooden top served as a work surface to knead dough.
Doors or compartments underneath/next to it were used for storing flour or kitchen utensils.

This kind of furniture was mainly used in the 18th and 19th centuries, when people baked bread at home. The dough was put into the oven to rise and then processed on the top.

The weathered paint and signs of use give exactly that warm, vintage look that enthusiasts are looking for.

In good, sturdy condition appropriate for its age.
