This is an original antique Art Nouveau tile made by Wienerberger Ziegelfabriks- und Baugesellschaft, Vienna. The tile was made circa 1900. The decoration of abstract motifs is rendered in relief using a dust-press technique in which clay powder is pressed into a mold. The tile is in good condition with light signs of wear such as small glaze and relief damages. The back is unmarked but has the typical line pattern for this factory. I have been trading antique tiles for almost 20 years. I sell medieval lead glazed floor tiles. Italian, Spanish and Portuguese tiles from the fourteenth to the eighteenth century. Dutch tiles from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, as well as tiles from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco period. I sell at special tile fairs in Germany and England, through Catawiki and eBay and through my website.
