Comtoise clock - Antique Iron - 1850-1900

French Comtoise clock (also known as Morbier clock), dating from the second half of the 19th century (circa 1860–1890).
Features of this clock
Feuille-border: The dial is surrounded by a richly decorated, stamped brass plate (feuille). The image at the top shows a detailed traditional genre scene.
Dial: A convex, white enamel dial with Roman numerals for the hours and a refined minute ring on the outer rim.
Date indication: The clock has an extra central hand (often with a sun or arrow) that indicates the date on the inner ring of the dial.
Harpslinger: Equipped with a distinctive lyre- or harp-shaped brass wire.
Movement: Two heavy cast-iron weights hanging from cords or chains. This indicates an 8-day movement with a running train and a striking mechanism (usually with a halting strike on the hour).
