Splendid 4-piece Silver-Plated Coffee and Tea Service - Christofle "Marly" (Louis XV).
A beautiful and complete 4-piece coffee and tea service from the renowned French silversmith Christofle.
This service is executed in the iconic and highly sought-after model "Marly", designed in 1897. The model is worldwide known for its lavish Louis XV / Rococo style, adorned with detailed acanthus leaves and asymmetrical scrolls. All pieces rest on elegant, cast tripods.
The set is in an exceptionally beautiful, glossy condition and consists of:
1. Coffee pot marked with official Christofle hallmarks)
2. Teapot (marked with official Christofle hallmarks)
3. Sugar pot with lid (marked with official Christofle hallmarks)
4. Milk jug / creamer (marked with official Christofle hallmarks)
The interiors of the pots are virtually flawless, indicating that the set has (almost) never been used for consumption in the past and served purely as decoration. The exterior has a beautiful, mirror-like shine.
The coffee pot shows two light 'sweat stains/age spots' on the outside, and the creamer has a small dent.
