Finely Engraved Silver - Box - Gilded Interior – c. 1900

A finely hand-engraved tested silver vinaigrette / pill box dating from around the turn of the 19th–20th century.

The entire surface is covered with rich floral and foliate engraving combined with finely punched background decoration, demonstrating excellent period silver craftsmanship.
The interior is gilded (vermeil).

No silver hallmark could be identified, however the object has been tested as silver.
The reverse features a plain cartouche, most likely intended for a monogram.

Good antique condition with age-related wear.
The gilding inside shows wear and there is minor oxidation around the hinge area. The engraved decoration remains exceptionally crisp and attractive, and the box closes properly.
