Description from the seller

Elegant old enameled cast-iron casserole with a superb gray-granite decorative finish (stone effect), characteristic of European productions from the 1950s to the 1970s.

This model of generous capacity features a simple, timeless silhouette, with two wide integrated side handles and a matching lid. It is stamped with a monogram "FB" set inside a circle, visible on the lid as well as underneath the casserole. To date, this mark has not been identified with certainty, but it is very likely from an old European foundry, probably French or Belgian.

Its thick cast-iron construction gives excellent thermal inertia, ideal for long, slow cooking.

Dimensions
Height (without lid): 12 cm
Total height (with lid): 18 cm
Length (including handles): 34 cm
Width / diameter: 27.5 cm
Weight: 6 kg

Condition
Good overall condition considering its age.

To note:
– a chip on one handle;
– a chip at the monogram on the lid;
– a few chips visible inside the casserole.
These defects are clearly visible in the photographs and do not affect the solidity or the authentic charm of this old piece.

About enameled cast iron
Enameled cast iron is renowned for its remarkable culinary qualities. It provides slow, even heat diffusion, retains heat for a long time, and allows gentle cooking that preserves flavors. Versatile, it is suitable for both braises and roasts, breads or sauces, while offering exceptional longevity when properly cared for.

Careful and well-protected shipping.

Best regards.
