AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Old classic weather vane, hand-forged in iron dating from the 18th century or earlier, originating from an old farmhouse in the Catalan Pyrenees. Rustic popular folk art of high antiquity. It is complete and functions.
Mast: the vertical shaft is a solid iron bar with a cylindrical cross-section of approximately 1.5 cm in diameter. Its irregular silhouette clearly evidences its handcrafted hammer-and-anvil production. Functional design where the iron widens at the lower end for mounting and at the upper end to seat the turning mechanism.
Popular engineering: The vane, 57.5 cm long, shows a technical solution of mechanical ingenuity with a hole in the middle for the pivot axis and transitioning from a horizontal plane (tip) to a vertical plane (tail).
It generally has a fair amount of rust and may be missing a small part, but it has been tested and works perfectly. Of these, there is only one.
