Sewing machine - Cast iron - Type Willcox & Gibbs

Very rare historical sewing machine with exposed mechanism and visible gears. The machine presumably dates from Germany, and is based on the highly successful machines from Willcox & Gibbs in the USA; however, instead of a belt drive, this model uses a gear drive, which is very unusual.
The special charm also lies in the rough condition; the machine has clearly endured hard times but that has also led to a beautiful patina.
There is still a bit of movement, but because parts are missing a very skilled hand will be required to make it functional again.

Therefore it is initially offered as a decorative or rare collectible for a man cave, sewing room, admirer of old technology, or collector. A technical relic from long-vanished times.
