"Ottomane on her sofa, Egypt", a very beautiful portrait from the late nineteenth century attributed to P. Sebah.
A very, very beautiful albumen print from the period in very good condition, mounted on cardboard support.
Superb shades of gray.
Pascal (P.) Sebah is one of the great photographers active in Constantinople in the second half of the 19th century. His studio, located in the heart of the city, quickly becomes a reference for travelers and diplomats seeking images of the Ottoman Empire and Egypt.
Sebah creates portraits, scenes of “types” and monumental views with great technical mastery and careful staging.
Will be shipped with its neutral pH sleeve (ideal for a collection in good condition).
