Rare pair of swivel chairs from East Germany – Naumburg furniture production – Mid-Century Modern / Space Age – 1970s
Authentic 1970s design
For sale is an exceptional pair of original swivel chairs from East German furniture production, manufactured in Naumburg in the 1970s.
The chairs fuse the clean design language of Mid-Century Modern with functional European design, impressing with their elegant silhouette, high seating comfort, and solid craftsmanship.
Particularly noteworthy are the originally preserved spring-core cushions, the stable swivel mechanism, and the characteristic chrome star-foot bases.
A distinctive feature is the textured upholstery fabric with its striking raised pattern. This typical fabric is currently experiencing a notable renaissance in modern interior design and is increasingly found in premium setups, boutique hotels, and stylish living concepts. One chair has a slightly stiffer swivel movement than the other. The swivel function is nevertheless fully functional and usable without restriction.
