Description from the seller

Historical pendulum wall clock from the period of Historicism/Jugendstil with original mechanical Junghans mainspring-wound movement and hour and half-hour strike on a gong.

The black-ebonized wooden case has a glazed front door with a brass bezel, decorative brass appliqués, and relief ornamental motifs in the style of late Historicism. The original enamel dial with Roman numerals and finely pierced steel hands is preserved.

Inside there is a complete Junghans eight-day movement with the characteristic eight-pointed Junghans star. Pendulum, gong and striking mechanism are present.

A special feature is an old East Asian inscription on the back of the case. It does not appear to have been added later, but lies beneath an old layer of varnish or was permanently applied. It likely refers to historical export or a dealer in the East Asian region. A definite translation is not currently possible.

The clock is overall in good original condition. The movement appears complete, but before permanent operation it should be professionally cleaned and overhauled.
