Description from the seller
⸻
Elegant Belle Époque salad cutlery set in its original case – Becker Paschals, Verviers (c. 1890–1915)
Beautiful and authentic Belgian Belle Époque salad cutlery set, comprising a serving spoon and a serving fork, kept in the original luxurious presentation case from Becker Paschals, located at 170 Place du Martyr, Verviers.
The handles are richly crafted in silvered metal with refined Louis XVI ornamentation and floral engravings. The serving pieces are made of a light cream-colored organic material (likely bone or an early plastic), typical for luxurious tableware from the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century.
The original satin- and velvet-finished case still bears the label of the Vervier dealer, underscoring the ensemble’s historical authenticity.
On one of the handles sits the quality stamp “100,” a common designation for high-quality silver-plated flatware from that period.
