Silver coin of the Ottoman Egypt that features on the obverse the calligraphic tughra of Sultan Abdul Hamid II, in an elegant Islamic style and fluid stroke, occupying the center field with well-defined ornamental elements. The reverse shows the face value within a symmetrical vegetal crown, with Arabic inscriptions and the Islamic date accompanied by the reign year, crowned by a crescent and star. The reliefs are crisp and the design maintains good overall presence, with residual luster visible in the fields. The piece has been cleaned in the past, a circumstance indicated by the certifier, though it retains an attractive appearance and full details typical of a specimen without circulation. Historically it belongs to the late period of Ottoman rule over Egypt, when monetary emissions kept the imperial iconography of the sultan.
