Description from the seller
TURKEY. 1,500 Lira. 1981.
- Value: 1,500 Lira.
- Year: 1981.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: 16 EKİM · DÜNYA BESİN GÜNÜ. Reverse: 1500 LIRA · 1981.
- Grade: MS67 (GBCA).
Commemorative 1,500 Lira coin issued by Turkey in 1981 under the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) program, dedicated to the celebration of World Food Day. The obverse features a stylized gazelle or antelope holding an olive branch, accompanied by the inscription “16 Ekim Dünya Besin Günü” (16 October, World Food Day) and the FAO emblem. The design stands out for its modern and symbolic character, with flowing lines and a balanced composition that emphasizes the relationship between nature, agriculture, and food. The reverse shows the face value of 1,500 Lira surrounded by stalks of wheat and olive branches, traditional elements associated with abundance and agricultural production. The specimen remains in an extraordinary state of preservation consistent with the MS67 grade, presenting fully defined reliefs, intense original satin luster and clean fields with minimal visible marks. It is a highly representative issue of the international thematic coins promoted by the FAO during the late decades of the 20th century.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to make absolutely clear that I do ship from Spain, which means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or within the EU that has a special tax agreement (example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped at your local customs and you might be asked to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and it is completely out of our control. Thanks for your understanding.
