Description from the seller

An exceptionally rare antique French crystal decanter attributed to the prestigious Cristallerie de Baccarat (formerly the Baccarat–Le Creusot production) the Service à Draperies et Palmettes model and illustrated in the historic 1840 Baccarat catalogue.
Expertly crafted in beautifully moulded crystal, this elegant decanter displays the refined neoclassical decoration characteristic of the period, with graceful drapery motifs and palmette ornamentation. The crystal possesses remarkable clarity and brilliance, highlighting the exceptional quality and craftsmanship.
The decanter is preserved in outstanding antique condition. It retains an exceptional transparency with no cracks or restorations observed. The base presents two chips, discreet and entirely consistent with nearly two centuries of careful preservation. Overall, the piece remains in truly excellent condition for its age.
The stopper is not the original one supplied with this decanter, however, it is an authentic later Baccarat crystal stopper, perfectly preserved and harmoniously matched to the piece.
