Description from the seller
Very complete outfit of the Kodak Cartridge No. 5. First model of this early Kodak roll film camera, which is also suitable for glass plates. This version dates from the early years 1898-1899, in which all metal parts are made of copper, whereas on models from after the turn of the century, these were nickel-plated. The red bellows are light-tight, comes with the rare instruction book ( 36 pages) and 3 plate holders, one still has glass plates. The original shutter is very early, does not even have a patent date yet, and is a so-called "triple action" shutter that still functions with an airbulb release. This version is for both roll film and plates and still holds an original wooden roll film spool. Door in the backplate does not stay closed. The backplate release is via a slide on lower the right side of the lens. There is also a built-in tripod for vertical shots in the barrel base.
