Description from the seller

Victorian mahogany carved dining table with two pedestals, 1890–1910. Elegant expandable dining room table, of European workmanship, probably English, executed in mahogany, in the late Victorian taste and Chippendale Revival, dating from the late 19th century or early 20th century. It features a large oval top with a carved surround and a removable extension leaf. The waist is richly decorated with carved friezes of vegetal and beaded motifs. It rests on two sturdy baluster-turned pedestals, adorned with acanthus leaves, ending in quadripartite bases with curved legs and carved feet. The pedestals are joined by a turned central crosspiece, lending stability and imposing presence to the ensemble. A striking piece, suitable for eight to ten places, combining historicist decorative richness with the functionality of an extension table.

Material: carved mahogany.
Dimensions: 220 x 100 x 80 cm with extension leaf.
