Description from the seller
Autograph letter signed, Ussy-sur-Marne, March 2, 1976, addressed to his friend Bogdan Manojlović, founder of the Samuel Beckett Association. With envelope. Very good condition.
Beautiful card in which Samuel Beckett evokes two emblematic pieces of his theater, Endgame and Not I, as well as their interpreters, Pierre Chabert and Madeleine Renaud.
A few months before this letter, at the Théâtre d’Orsay, Beckett himself staged Endgame, with Pierre Chabert in the role of Krapp, presented in the same program as Not I, performed by Madeleine Renaud.
Beckett writes:
"Dear Sir,
The Endgame – Not I performance is ending.
When it is revived (if it is) I will let you know a word for Madeleine Renaud and Pierre Chabert.
Very sincerely,"
