Luxman - FQ 990 Solid state stereo receiver

Here’s an opportunity that rarely comes around, the Luxman FQ-990 represents the pinnacle of audio engineering from one of the 70’s leading Hi Fidelity manufacturers. The top of the line Luxman from 1971 to 1973.
Fully functional, except for AM. Very good condition for the age. Checked and partially serviced. Cover and all aluminium surfaces are refurbished and now the receiver looks great again. All light bulbs are replaced. One of the switches is replaced with non-original one. Impressively good condition for its age, only minor signs of wear. No scratches.
The sound is rich, warm and powerful. Tight bass, clear highs and beautiful vocals. You can listen to even modern music genres without it sounding outdated. During last 2 years constantly listen to it, mostly FM radio, CD, records and cassettes. The unit has 2 phono inputs – I found Phono 2 as good for MC cartridge, and Phono 1, which is great for MM cartridges. FM stereo reproduction is great with good selectivity. There are three Preset buttons, where you can tune your favorite stations. The green FM illumination is spectacular, while AM is illuminated in white color. AM is not serviced. For listening the cassette deck, simply switch to tape monitor.
This receiver has massive and eye-catching look, fitting very well also in modern interiors. It’s quite heavy too – 17 kg! Solid look, solid sound. Specifications you can find in the last photo.
