Grand service de table Francine, Faïencerie de Badonviller, début XXe
Description :
Very complete service of tableware in earthenware from the famous French manufactory Badonviller, iconic Francine model. Dating from the early 20th century (around 1900-1905), this service perfectly embodies the rustic-chic charm of the Belle Époque with its delicate countryside decor featuring bouquets of blue cornflowers and green foliage, enhanced by fine blue borders.
Each piece bears the authenticity stamp of the faïencerie; the letter "F" present at the center of these marks refers to Théophile Fenal, director of the manufacture.
Composition of the service (52 pieces):
32 flat plates (diameter: 22.5 cm)
11 deep plates (diameter: 22 cm)
1 large circular platter (diameter: 31.5 cm)
1 circular platter (diameter: 26.5 cm)
1 large tureen with lid (30.5 x 15 cm)
1 large oval platter (37.5 x 27 cm)
2 trays (22 x 15 cm)
1 deep plate (diameter: 26.5 cm)
2 small deep dishes (diameter: 25 cm)
State of conservation :
The set is in very good condition, bearing witness to careful use over the decades.
Note: Some plates show very small enamel chips on the outer rim (invisible during use on the drinking side).
The tureen also has a few small enamel chips on the edges (see photos).
Apart from these minor signs of wear, the glaze shine and the vibrancy of the floral decor are impeccable.
