Description from the seller
Timeless elegance: Original vintage Junghans pendulum clock
Bring the authentic charm of great German clockmaking into your home with this splendid Junghans pendulum clock, made in Germany between the late 19th century and the early 20th century. A piece of history that blends build quality, mechanical precision, and refined design, expression of German craftsmanship excellence.
The clock is fully functional: the mechanical movement is efficient, the pendulum swings regularly, and the striking marks the hours as it did over a century ago.
The case is adorned with elegant neoclassical-style finishes, with turned columns, finely chased ornamental motifs, and a majestic eagle crowning the top, a symbol of strength and prestige. The enameled dial with Roman numerals, the original hands, and the gilded decorations of the door give the whole ensemble a timeless elegance, making it a true decorative piece as well as a valuable collectible.
The clock comes with all of its original components from the era. The only substitution concerns the front panel, where the glass has been replaced with a transparent plexiglass, an intervention carried out solely to preserve its integrity and full functionality. This replacement does not alter the clock’s historic value nor does it compromise its charm or collectible value.
