A triangular flint handaxe from the Paleolithic (300,000–50,000 BP) in very good condition, measuring 99 by 74 mm, originating from a Belgian private collection, acquired in 2000, with a previous Belgian owner from 1980, and supplied with an authenticity certificate.

This triangular biface was found in Bossay-sûr-Claille, Indre-et-Loire department. The emergence of this type of biface dates back to the Acheulean, but the tradition continued into the Mousterian, especially in its early phase (MTA). Nice patina and finely finished. A typical product of H. Neanderthalensis. The triangular shape is rather rare, especially when its geometry is very pronounced.
