Rare Songye Tetela statue from the Democratic Republic of Congo, provenance private collection, height 47 cm, width 1 cm, depth 1 cm, weight 1 g, in good condition, not sold with a stand.
Description from the seller
Rare statue probably Songye Tetela. We find the body in Songye style with a swollen belly and hands placed around it.
The head, however, is much more atypical: elongated and narrowing toward the chin. The flat face is covered with ridges and white pigment.
