The Yaka monoxyle wooden coupe koopha from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, mid‑20th century, private collection provenance, authentic original, with two openings for reconciliation, measuring 9 cm high, 1 cm wide and 1 cm deep, weight 1 g.
Description from the seller
Small monoxyle Yaka wooden cup traditionally used for reconciliation. Two people with a dispute drink from it together, hence the two openings. This is a unique type of object in African art. Indeed, this typology is found only in the Yaka/Suku culture in the Congo.
