Description from the seller

Ancient cartagloria (frame for the liturgical altar) that is fascinating and elegant, made in Italy at the end of the 19th century.
The object is finely worked in silvered copper, shaped with a rich and scenographic structure full of volutes, foliate elements and asymmetric motifs typical of the Baroque style, masterfully echoed in the eclecticism of the late nineteenth century.
As visible in the images, the work presents the classic shaped form with a majestic pierced crest at the top and two conspicuous scrollwork feet that guarantee its stability when resting.
Currently the central mercury mirror replaces the old liturgical paper text—this precious sacred artifact has become a splendid mirror, perfect for high-end interior decoration.
