Description from the seller
Pair of Decorative Pewter/Tin Ewers – Rococo Style – 20th Century
Elegant pair of decorative ewers with elaborate ornamental workmanship and a strong decorative presence, inspired by the Rococo / Neo-Rococo aesthetic.
Both ewers feature a graceful and elegant silhouette, with rounded bodies richly decorated with raised ornamentation. The surfaces are embellished with floral motifs, leaves, scrolls and botanical elements, extending across the bodies, necks and bases.
Particularly striking are the large sculptural side handles, shaped with elegant curves and scrolling elements, giving the pieces an imposing decorative character. The upper sections feature large curved elements surrounding the central opening, reflecting the highly ornamental taste of historicist design.
On the front of each ewer is a white ceramic/porcelain plaque with polychrome floral decoration, depicting roses and other flowers in shades of pink, purple, blue and green. These plaques provide an elegant decorative accent and create an attractive contrast with the metal surface.
The bases are especially elaborate, featuring shaped feet, scrolls and raised floral decoration, giving each piece a strong presence when displayed individually or as a pair.
