Sugar sifter - .835 silver - Silver Tea Strainer

Old Dutch silver teapot strainer with a detailed handle in the shape of a windmill. This kind of decorative tea strainers, often featuring Dutch scenes and motifs in repoussé style, dates from the early to the mid-20th century (often around 1910–1930).
Material: Made of silver (usually fineness .833 or .835, to be checked via the small silver hallmark marks on the stem or the rim).
Representation: The handle is formed as a windmill (sometimes with movable windmill blades) and the rim of the strainer is decorated with traditional rural or Dutch scenes.
Use: Historically indispensable on the tea table when pouring loose tea.
