The Akai HX-A451W is a comprehensive dual cassette deck from around 1986, built in Japan. This model stands out for its programmable operation: up to 15 selections can be played back in a desired order or used when copying. In addition, the deck features normal and double dubbing speeds, continuous play, intro scan, blank-skip, automatic tape selection, and a digital LED counter/display.
Tape I is intended for playback and Tape II for recording and playback. Equipped with Dolby B/C noise reduction, two-color LED peak level meters, timer start, microphone input with mixing function, and RCA line in/out. Frequency response extends to 16 kHz with Metal tape; wow & flutter is specified as 0.09% WRMS.
This is the silver-colored 220V/50Hz version. The nameplate confirms model HX-A451W and Made in Japan. The device has been tested and is working. The visible signs of use and the cosmetic condition are shown in the photos.
